From Foundations to Conversations
Many families spend a few years working through biblical foundations curricula to establish a big picture with their elementary-aged kids.
Growth eventually demands more than a beautiful, rich overview. When your kids begin asking "why" and "how" rather than just “who” and “what,” it’s a sign that they’re ready for the next step. What do you do after the foundations of the Bible phase? It’s time to shift from foundations to conversations with Talk Through the Bible.

The Next Step in Biblical Education
Around age nine, students reach a milestone in cognitive development and are ready to move from generalizations and memorization to analytical, collaborative inquiry. Our curriculum is designed specifically for this next stage of dialectic transition.
Is My Whole Family Ready
While our curriculum is accessible for ages 7 through 16, it truly shines when you have at least two children aged 9 and up. At that age, kids are ready to drive the dialogue. They’re no longer just absorbing information; they’re thinking through it critically. Younger siblings aged 7 and 8 can still participate though! With older siblings, they have the freedom to contribute ideas without the pressure of carrying the discussion alone.

How to Dive Deeper
Talk Through the Bible systematically takes your family chapter by chapter through the Bible, beginning in Genesis and working through the entire Pentateuch over the course of a school year. Our open-and-go lessons provide structured, guided discussions designed to cover all points of theology and doctrine as they naturally appear in the primary source—Scripture itself. You can use the prompts as a script or simply as a starting point to spark your own family discussions. You’re in control!
Why Talk Through the Bible Works
Using Socratic-style questioning, you won't just tell your kids what to believe—you'll lead them to discover the truth and character of God for themselves. This isn't a lecture; it's a rhetorical exercise in discovery.
You'll start by reading Scripture (we don't leave anything out), then move from observation to discussing how the Bible shapes every aspect of our Christian worldview. Together, your family will use logic and reasoning to build upon your initial foundation, raising an unshakable framework of faith, theology, and doctrine.

Big Topics and Apologetics
Tweens and teens need us to dive deep with them into discussions of controversial topics. If we don’t guide our children in how to think through these issues now, the world will do it for them later. Talk Through the Bible helps you tackle the big topics now so that your kids are prepared to face the world with an intellectually grounded faith and a heart that is in love with the Lord. We’ll cover topics such as:
- How do science and the beauty of creation align?
- Why should we trust the Bible if it was written by men?
- Why do bad things happen to "good" people?
- Was the flood literal, and is there evidence?
- Did Abraham's prayers change God's mind? Do ours?
- Why did God choose to bless Jacob with His covenant promise rather than Esau?
- Is sin part of God's plan?
- What does it mean for God to harden hearts?
- Are miracles real? If so, how do they line up with science?
- How do we reconcile Old Testament Law and New Testament grace?
- Is the Pentateuch a literal narrative, allegorical, or both?
Cultivating the Classical Heart
Ultimately, our goal is to move beyond the grammar of the Bible and into a restorative conversation. By focusing on narrative analysis and Socratic dialogue, Talk Through the Bible ensures your students aren’t just checking a box, but are learning to articulate their faith with clarity and wisdom. It’s the perfect Bible curriculum for families aiming for high academic standards and deep spiritual formation, providing the rigorous yet accessible discussion needed to transition young learners to thoughtful, independent defenders of the faith.
